ABOUT US

NSD is run for and by people with disabilities and works to elevate their status in society. It is a core belief of NSD that people with disabilities should lead a meaningful and dignified life equal to that of a non-disabled person. NSD is committed to empowering PWDs and helping them to become contributing members of society through active participation in national development.

NSD has developed a nationwide network with concerned groups to mobilize self-help organizations at a local level and to encourage their participation in a wider awareness movement with the goal of a rights-based approach to disabilities.

NSD has an executive board of eleven members elected every five years by the general assembly. The executive board is the decision-making body that formulates policies and develops programs and strategies. The president of the board is the chief executive of the organization. The members of the executive committee of NSD have a wide range of expertise and experience in different areas of the disability field.

Let us join all our hands together towards the empowerment of the physically disabled through wider participation in programs run by NSD Nepal and restore their confidence and dignity.
